وَبِهِ، حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَبْدِ اللهِ

أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ، فَقَالَ: أَمَرْتَنَا بِالزَّكَاةِ، زَكَاةِ الْفِطْرِ، فَنَحْنُ نُؤَدِّيهَا، فَكَيْفَ بِنَا إِنْ أَدْرَكْنَا وُلَاةً لَا يَضَعُونَهَا مَوَاضِعَهَا ؟ فَقَالَ: أَدُّوهَا إِلَى وُلَاتِكُمْ، فَإِنَّهُمْ يُحَاسَبُونَ بِهَا

Translation

✧ A man from the Ansar came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: 'You commanded us to give zakah, the zakah of fitr, and we give it. But what about us if we live to see rulers who do not put it in its proper places?' He said: 'Give it to your rulers, for they will be held accountable for it.'
