✧ God, blessed and exalted, descends in the last three hours that remain of the night. In the first of them He looks into the Book that no one other than Him looks into, and He erases what He wills and confirms. Then in the second hour He looks into the Garden of Eden, which is His dwelling where He resides; none will be with Him therein except the prophets, the martyrs, and the truthful ones. In it is what no eye has seen and what has not crossed the heart of any human. Then He descends in the last hour of the night and says: 'Is there any who seeks forgiveness, that I may forgive him? Is there any who asks, that I may give him? Is there any who calls upon Me, that I may answer him?' until dawn breaks. That is His saying: 'And the Qur'an of dawn; indeed, the Qur'an of dawn is witnessed'—God and His angels witness it.
