حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ سَهْلٍ، نَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْجَوْهَرِيُّ، نَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ كَثِيرِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ، عَنْ رُدَيْحِ بْنِ مَدَرَةَ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ السَّلَمِيِّ، مِنْ أَهْلِ قُبَاءَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ:
كُنَّا مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ حَتَّى نَزَلْنَا الْقَاحَةَ، وَلَمْ يَكُنْ بِهَا مَاءٌ، فَنَزَلَ فِي صَدْرِ الْوَادِي، فَبَحَثَ بِيَدِهِ فِي الْبَطْحَاءِ، فَنَدِيَتْ، فَجَلَسَ فَفَحَصَ، فَانْبَعَثَ الْمَاءُ، فَسَقَى وَسَقَى مَنْ كَانَ مَعَهُ قَالَ: هَذِهِ سُقْيَا سَقَاكُمُ اللهُ، فَسُمِّيَتِ السُّقْيَا

✧ We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ until we stopped at al-Qaha, and there was no water there. He went down into the upper part of the valley and dug with his hand in the pebbly ground, and it became moist. He sat and dug, and water gushed forth, and he drank and gave drink to those with him. He said: "This is a drink that Allah has given you to drink," so it was called al-Suqya.
