وَبِهِ: حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَجْلَانَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ
أَنَّ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ كَلَّمَتْ نَبِيَّ اللهِ ﷺ فِي ذُيُولِ النِّسَاءِ حِينَ نَهَى عَنْ جَرِّ الثَّوْبِ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: يُرْخِينَ شِبْرًا، قَالَتْ: يَنْكَشِفُ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: " فَذِرَاعًا، لَا يَزِيدُ عَلَيْهِ

✧ That Umm Salama, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ, spoke to the Prophet of Allah ﷺ about the hems of women's garments when he forbade dragging the garment, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "They may let them down a span." She said: "(Then) it would be uncovered." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Then a cubit, and no more than that."
