حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا، ثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْأُبُلِّيُّ، نَا حَفْصُ بْنُ جُمَيْعٍ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ:

قَالَتِ الْأَنْصَارُ: إِنَّ السَّعْيَ بَيْنَ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةِ مِنْ أَمْرِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ، فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ تَعَالَى: إِنَّ الصَّفَا وَالْمَرْوَةَ مِنْ شَعَائِرِ اللهِ فَمَنْ حَجَّ الْبَيْتَ أَوِ اعْتَمَرَ فَلا جُنَاحَ عَلَيْهِ أَنْ يَطَّوَّفَ بِهِمَا

Translation

✧ The Ansar said: 'The walking between al-Safa and al-Marwa is from the affairs of the pre-Islamic era.' So God Almighty revealed: 'Indeed, al-Safa and al-Marwa are among the rites of God. So whoever performs Hajj to the House or performs 'Umrah, there is no blame upon him to walk between them.'
