✧ When the Prophet ﷺ passed away, his companions sat around him grieving and weeping. A tall, handsome, eloquent man came, wearing a waist-wrapper and a cloak, with hair on his shoulders and chest. He stepped over the companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ until he grasped the doorposts, and he wept over the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for a while. Then he said: In Allah there is consolation for every affliction, a successor for every loss, and a substitute for everything missed. So to Allah turn in repentance, and to Him direct your desire, for the truly afflicted is the one whom reward does not restore. The people said: Do you recognize the man? They looked right and left but saw no one. Abu Bakr said: This is al-Khidr, the brother of the Prophet ﷺ.
