حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ هَارُونَ، نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَهَّابِ الْحَارِثِيُّ، نَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ الْغَسِيلِ، عَنْ أَسِيدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي أُسَيْدٍ قَالَ:

بَيْنَمَا أَنَا جَالِسٌ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ إِذْ جَاءَهُ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، هَلْ بَقِيَ عَلَيَّ مِنْ بِرِّ وَالِدَيَّ شَيْءٌ مِنْ بَعْدِ مَوْتِهِمَا أَبَرُّهُمَا بِهِ ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، خِصَالٌ أَرْبَعٌ: الصَّلَاةُ عَلَيْهِمَا، وَالِاسْتِغْفَارُ لَهُمَا، وَإِنْفَاذُ عَهْدِهِمَا بَعْدَ وَفَاتِهِمَا، وَإِكْرَامُ صَدِيقِهِمَا، وَصِلَةُ الرَّحِمِ الَّتِي لَا رَحِمَ لَكَ إِلَّا مِنْ قِبَلِهِمَا

✧ While I was sitting with the Prophet ﷺ, a man from the Ansar came to him and said: O Messenger of God, is there anything left of dutifulness to my parents after their death with which I may be dutiful to them? He said: Yes, four traits: praying for them, seeking forgiveness for them, fulfilling their promises after their death, honoring their friends, and maintaining the ties of kinship that you have only through them.
