حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، نَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ سَيْفٍ الْحَرَّانِيُّ، ثَنَا أَبُو عَتَّابٍ الدَّلَّالُ، نَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ - أَخُو أَبِي حُرَّةَ - عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ

أَنَّهُ كَانَ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، هُوَ وَأَبُو طَلْحَةَ، وَصَفِيَّةُ رَدِيفَةُ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ، فَعَثَرَتْ بِهِ نَاقَتُهُ، فَوَثَبَ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ، فَقَالَ: ضُرِرْتَ ؟ قَالَ: " لَا، عَلَيْكَ بِالْمَرْأَةِ "، فَأَلْقَيْتُ عَلَى وَجْهِي ثَوْبِي، فَأَلْقَيْتُهُ عَلَيْهَا، فَلَمَّا كُنَّا بِالْحَرَّةِ أَوْ أَشْرَفْنَا عَلَى الْمَدِينَةِ، قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: آيِبُونَ، تَائِبُونَ، عَابِدُونَ، إِنْ شَاءَ اللهُ، لِرَبِّنَا حَامِدُونَ

Translation

✧ That he was with the Messenger of God ﷺ, he and Abu Talha, and Safiyya was riding behind the Messenger of God ﷺ. His she-camel stumbled with him, and Abu Talha jumped up and said, "Are you hurt?" He said, "No, mind the woman." So I threw my garment over my face and then threw it over her. When we were at the Harra, or when we came within sight of Madinah, the Messenger of God ﷺ said: Returning, repenting, worshiping—if God wills—praising our Lord.
