✧ We came as a delegation to the Messenger of God ﷺ and caught up with him at al-Juhfa. The people rejoiced at our arrival, and we embraced Islam. He instructed them to proceed with him to Madinah. Their brothers from among the people used to attend to them every evening, and to the strangers among the Muslims who had come to the Prophet ﷺ. He used to urge [them] regarding their share, saying: “Your brothers are your guests. Each person [should help] according to what God has made ample for him.” So a man would rise and take one man, or two men, and the one who took three was ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. ʿAwf."
