حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَابَانَ، نَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الضَّعِيفُ، ثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ الثَّقَفِيُّ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ السَّخْتِيَانِيِّ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ صَلَّى بِالنَّاسِ فِي وَجَعِهِ وَهُوَ جَالِسٌ، فَقَامُوا فَأَوْمَأَ إِلَيْهِمْ، فَجَلَسُوا، فَقَالَ: الْإِمَامُ يُؤْتَمُّ بِهِ، فَإِذَا رَكَعَ فَارْكَعُوا، وَإِذَا سَجَدَ فَاسْجُدُوا، وَإِذَا صَلَّى قَاعِدًا فَصَلُّوا قُعُودًا ".

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ led the people in prayer during his illness while seated, so they stood. He gestured to them, and they sat. Then he said: The imam is to be followed. When he bows, bow; when he prostrates, prostrate; and when he prays seated, pray seated.
