machine translationIbrāhīm b. Saʿīd is not corroborated in this narration in raising it to the Prophet (marfūʿ). He said: A group narrated it from Nāfiʿ as a statement of Ibn ʿUmar.
in المعجم الأوسط, p. 7143 - ʿAbd al-Raḥmān b. al-Jawzī
machine translationThe hadith of Ibn ʿUmar: there is disagreement over whether it is raised (marfūʿ) to the Prophet ﷺ or stopped (mawqūf) at the Companion.

machine translationShaykh Taqī al-Dīn, in al-Imām, found the ruling of insertion (idrāj) in this hadith problematic on two grounds.
machine translationIn the first ground there is an indication that there is no insertion, for the hadith is weak (ḍaʿīf) because Ibrāhīm b. Saʿīd al-Madanī is unknown (majhūl).
in المعجم الأوسط, p. 7143 - al-Dhahabi
machine translationThis Ibrāhīm b. Saʿīd is one whose narrations are rejected (munkar al-ḥadīth) and is not well known. Then he said: He has a single hadith on ihram, which Abū Dāwūd transmitted and was silent about, so his status is close to acceptable (muqārib al-ḥāl).
machine translation"From the statement of Ibn ʿUmar" was inserted into the hadith (mudraj), meaning: "A woman must not wear the face veil (niqāb)."
