حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ نُوحِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، ثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الصَّوَّافُ، ثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ نُوحٍ الضُّبَعِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي خَالِدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْأَشْعَثِ الضُّبَعِيَّانِ، عَنْ حُصَيْنِ بْنِ حَرْبِ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ الضُّبَعِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي جَمْرَةَ نَصْرِ بْنِ عِمْرَانَ الضُّبَعِيِّ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ نُوحِ بْنِ مَخْلَدٍ
أَنَّهُ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَهُوَ بِمَكَّةَ، فَسَأَلَهُ: " مِمَّنْ أَنْتَ ؟ " قَالَ: أَنَا مِنْ بَنِي ضُبَيْعَةَ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: خَيْرُ رَبِيعَةَ عَبْدُ الْقَيْسِ، ثُمَّ الْحَيُّ الَّذِي أَنْتَ مِنْهُمْ، وَأَبْضَعَ مَعَهُ فِي جَيْشٍ إِلَى الْيَمَنِ ".

✧ He came to the Prophet ﷺ while he was in Makkah and asked him, 'From whom are you?' He said, 'I am from Banu Dubay'a b. Rabi'a.' The Prophet ﷺ said: The best of Rabi'a is 'Abd al-Qays, then the clan you are from. And he dispatched him with an army to Yemen.
