حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، ثَنَا سَهْلُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ، نَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ: قَالَ عُمَرُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ: لَا أَعْلَمُهُ إِلَّا عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ:

إِذَا صَلَّى أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيُصَلِّ فِي ثَوْبَيْنِ، فَإِنْ لَمْ يَكُنْ عَلَيْهِ إِلَّا ثَوْبٌ فَلْيَأْتَزِرْ بِهِ، ثُمَّ لِيُصَلِّ، وَلَا تَشْتَمِلُوا اشْتِمَالَ الْيَهُودِ، فَإِنَّ اللهَ أَحَقُّ أَنْ يُتَزَيَّنَ لَهُ ".

✧ When one of you prays, let him pray in two garments. If he has only one garment, let him wrap it around his waist and then pray. Do not wrap yourselves as the Jews do, for God is more deserving that one adorn oneself for Him.
