حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ، ثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ قُهْزَاذَ، ثَنَا حَاتِمُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، ثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمُؤْمِنِ بْنُ خَالِدٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ بُرَيْدَةَ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ يَعْمَرَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ:
خَطَبَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ، فَقَالَ فِي خُطْبَتِهِ: أَلَا إِنِّي أُوشِكُ أَنْ أُدْعَى فَأُجِيبَ، فَيَلِيَكُمْ عُمَّالٌ مِنْ بَعْدِي، يَعْمَلُونَ مَا تَعْلَمُونَ، وَيَعْمَلُونَ مَا تَعْرِفُونَ، وَطَاعَةُ أُولَئِكَ طَاعَةٌ، فَتَلْبَثُونَ كَذَلِكَ زَمَانًا، ثُمَّ يَلِيكُمْ عُمَّالٌ مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ، يَعْمَلُونَ بِمَا لَا يَعْلَمُونَ، وَيَعْمَلُونَ بِمَا لَا تَعْرِفُونَ، فَمَنْ فَادَهُمْ وَنَاصَحَهُمْ فَأُولَئِكَ قَدْ هَلَكُوا وَأَهْلَكُوا، خَالِطُوهُمْ بِأَجْسَادِكُمْ، وَزَايِلُوهُمْ بِأَعْمَالِكُمْ، وَاشْهَدُوا عَلَى الْمُحْسِنِ أَنَّهُ مُحْسِنٌ، وَعَلَى الْمُسِيءِ أَنَّهُ مُسِيءٌ

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ addressed us and said in his sermon: Verily, I am about to be called and to answer. After me, governors will rule over you who do what you know and who do what you recognize, and obeying them is obedience. You will remain like that for a time. Then after them, governors will rule over you who do what they do not know and do what you do not recognize. Whoever ransoms them and gives them sincere counsel—those have perished and caused others to perish. Mix with them in your bodies, but part from them in your deeds, and bear witness that the doer of good is a doer of good and that the doer of evil is a doer of evil.
