✧ We set out with the Messenger of God ﷺ on the expedition to Tabuk. He used to combine Zuhr and Asr, praying Zuhr at the end of its time and Asr at the beginning of its time. Then he would travel and pray Maghrib at the end of its time, as long as the twilight had not disappeared, and pray Isha at the beginning of its time, when the twilight disappeared. Then, when he drew near, he said: 'We will camp tomorrow, God willing, at Tabuk, so let no one get to the water before us.' Mu'adh said: 'I was the first to race to the water, but there were two men who had beaten me to it. They had drawn water into two water-skins they had with them and muddied the water. I said: "After the Messenger of God's ﷺ prohibition, you two have beaten us and drawn water?" Then the Messenger of God ﷺ came and said: "Did I not forbid you that no one should get to the water before us?" He asked for the two water-skins and they were emptied into the water. Then he performed wudu, rinsed his mouth in the water, and supplicated to God, and the water overflowed. Then he said: "Indeed you, O Mu'adh, if your life is prolonged, will see that this place here has been filled with gardens."
