✧ Muhammad b. al-Harith al-Jubayli

وَبِهِ: عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، وَسَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

لَا تُعْمِرُوا، وَلَا تُرْقِبُوا، فَإِنْ فَعَلْتُمْ فَهُوَ لِلْمُعْمَرِ وَلِلْمُرْقَبِ ". قُلْتُ: وَكَيْفَ يَكُونُ ذَلِكَ ؟ قَالَ: " الْعُمْرَى أَنْ تَقُولَ: هِيَ لَكَ حَيَاتَكَ، وَالرُّقْبَى أَنْ تَقُولَ: هُوَ لِلْآخِرِ مِنِّي وَمِنْكَ

Translation

✧ Do not give 'umra or ruqba. If you do, it belongs to the recipient of 'umra and the recipient of ruqba. I said: How is that? He said: 'Umra is when you say: It is yours for your lifetime. Ruqba is when you say: It belongs to the last of us to die.
