حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُزَيْقِ بْنِ جَامِعٍ، نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ هِشَامِ بْنِ أَبِي حُرَّةَ السَّدُوسِيُّ، نَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ، نَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ، سَمِعْتُ عَمْرَو بْنَ يَحْيَى بْنِ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ أَبِي حَسَنٍ الْأَنْصَارِيَّ يُحَدِّثُ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ الْقَاسِمَ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ يُحَدِّثُ، أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ:

أَكْثَرَ النَّاسُ فِي الْغُسْلِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ، وَإِنَّمَا كَانَ ذَلِكَ فِي بَيْتِي، دَخَلَ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ نَفَرٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْعَالِيَةِ فِي يَوْمٍ حَارٍّ، قَدْ عَمِلُوا فِي نَخْلِهِمْ، وَعَلَيْهِمْ ثِيَابُهُمُ الصُّوفُ، فَدَخَلُوا وَلَهُمْ أَرْوَاحٌ مُنْكَرَةٌ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: إِذَا كَانَ هَذَا الْيَوْمُ فَاغْتَسِلُوا.

✧ "People exaggerated about performing ghusl on Friday, but that was only in my house. A group of people from al-'Aliyah entered upon the Messenger of God ﷺ on a hot day, having worked in their palm groves, wearing their woolen garments. They entered with unpleasant odors, so the Messenger of God ﷺ said: 'When this day comes, then perform ghusl.'"
