✧ My father died, leaving me and a brother of mine, and he did not leave us any wealth. Then my paternal uncle came from Madinah and brought us to Aishah. He brought me inside with her into the curtained area because I was a girl, but he did not bring in the boy. My uncle complained to her of his need, so she ordered for us two fariḍah (garments), two ghazarah (garments), two mu'aqqad (garments), and a hisl (garment). Then she said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: 'The Hour will not come until children become a source of anger, rain is hot, the wicked overflow in abundance, the noble dwindle away, the young are insolent toward the old, and the vile are insolent toward the noble.'"
