حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ثَعْلَبٌ، قَالَ: نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ الْمُقْرِئُ، قَالَ: نَا أَبِي قَالَ: نَا عَتَّابُ بْنُ بَشِيرٍ، عَنْ خُصَيْفٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، قَالَ:

قِيلَ لِابْنِ عُمَرَ: هَذَا تُصَلِّي عَلَى رَاحِلَتِكَ إِذَا تَوَجَّهْتَ إِلَى مَكَّةَ، فَلِمَ تَصْنَعُ ذَلِكَ إِذَا رَجَعْتَ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ ؟ " قَالَ: " لَوْ لَمْ أَرَ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ صَنَعَهُ لَمْ أَصْنَعْهُ

✧ It was said to Ibn Umar: "You pray on your mount when you head toward Makkah, so why do you do that when you return to Madinah?" He said: "If I had not seen the Messenger of Allah ﷺ do it, I would not do it."
