✧ I said to Aishah: What do you think about the saying of Allah, may His remembrance be exalted: 'Then We caused to inherit the Book those We have chosen of Our servants; and among them is he who wrongs himself, and among them is he who is moderate, and among them is he who is foremost in good deeds by permission of Allah'—the verse? She said: As for the foremost, he has passed away during the lifetime of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and he bore witness for him to Paradise. As for the moderate, he is the one who followed their footsteps and acted according to their deeds until he joins them. As for the one who wrongs himself, he is like me and you and whoever follows us. She said: And all of them are in Paradise.
