✧ He was on an expedition, and a man from the polytheists challenged a man from the Muslims and killed him. Then another Muslim came out to him and the polytheist killed him. Then he approached and stood before the Prophet ﷺ and said: 'What do you fight for?' He said: 'Our religion is that we fight people until they bear witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger, and that we fulfill the due right of Allah.' He said: 'By Allah, this is indeed good. I believe in this.' Then he turned to the Muslims, charged against the polytheists, and fought until he was killed. He was carried and placed with his two companions whom he had killed. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: 'These are the people of Paradise with the strongest love for one another.'
