حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، قَالَ: نَا خَلَفُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ الْبَزَّارُ، قَالَ: نَا عِيسَى بْنُ مَيْمُونٍ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:
لَا تَقُولُوا سُورَةَ الْبَقَرَةِ، وَلَا سُورَةَ آلِ عِمْرَانَ، وَلَا سُورَةَ النِّسَاءِ، وَكَذَلِكَ الْقُرْآنُ كُلُّهُ، وَلَكِنْ قُولُوا: السُّورَةَ الَّتِي يُذْكَرُ فِيهَا الْبَقَرَةُ، وَالسُّورَةَ الَّتِي يُذْكَرُ فِيهَا آلُ عِمْرَانَ، وَهَكَذَا الْقُرْآنُ كُلُّهُ.

✧ Do not say Sūrat al-Baqarah, nor Sūrat Āl ʿImrān, nor Sūrat al-Nisāʾ, and likewise the entire Qurʾān. Rather say: the sūrah in which the cow is mentioned, the sūrah in which the family of ʿImrān is mentioned, and so on for the entire Qurʾān.
