حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، قَالَ: نَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، قَالَ: نَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَعْلَى، قَالَ: نَا خَالِدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ السُّلَمِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ وَسَعِيدُ بْنُ الْمُسَيِّبِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ

أَنَّ رَجُلًا مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنِّي قَدْ زَنَيْتُ، فَأَعْرَضَ عَنْهُ، حَتَّى أَتَاهُ أَرْبَعًا، كُلُّ ذَلِكَ يُعْرِضُ عَنْهُ، فَلَمَّا سَأَلَهُ أَرْبَعًا شَهِدَ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ أَرْبَعَ شَهَادَاتٍ، دَعَاهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ، فَقَالَ: أَبِكَ جُنُونٌ ؟ فَقَالَ: لَا، قَالَ: قَدْ أَحْصَنْتَ ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: اذْهَبُوا بِهِ فَارْجُمُوهُ

✧ A man from the Muslims came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I have committed adultery.' He turned away from him, until he came to him four times, each time he turned away from him. When he asked him four times and testified against himself four times, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ called him and said: 'Do you have insanity?' He said: 'No.' He said: 'Have you been married (and consummated the marriage)?' He said: 'Yes.' He said: 'Take him and stone him.'
