حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الرَّازِيُّ قَالَ: نَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْجَعْدِ قَالَ: نَا أَبُو شَيْبَةَ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ، عَنْ مِقْسَمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ:

لَمَّا نَزَلَ بِالنَّبِيِّ ﷺ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ أَبُو سُفْيَانَ وَأَصْحَابُهُ، قَالَ لِأَصْحَابِهِ: إِنِّي رَأَيْتُ فِي الْمَنَامِ أَنَّ سَيْفِيَ ذَا الْفَقَارِ انْكَسَرَ، وَهِيَ مُصِيبَةٌ، وَرَأَيْتُ بَقَرًا تُذْبَحُ، وَهِيَ مُصِيبَةٌ، وَرَأَيْتُ عَلَيَّ دِرْعِي وَهِيَ مَدِينَتُكُمْ لَا يَصِلُونَ إِلَيْهَا، إِنْ شَاءَ اللهُ

Translation

✧ When Abu Sufyan and his companions encamped against the Prophet ﷺ on the day of Uhud, he said to his companions: 'I saw in a dream that my sword Dhū al-Faqār broke, and that is a calamity; and I saw cows being slaughtered, and that is a calamity; and I saw my armor on me, and it is your city—they will not reach it, God willing.'
