حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ قَالَ: نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى، عَنْ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ. عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

لَا يَزْنِي الزَّانِي حِينَ يَزْنِي وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ، وَلَا يَسْرِقُ السَّارِقُ حِينَ يَسْرِقُ وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ، وَلَا يَشْرَبُ الْخَمْرَ حِينَ يَشْرَبُهَا وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ ". قُلْنَا: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، كَيْفَ يَكُونُ ذَاكَ ؟ قَالَ: " يَخْرُجُ الْإِيمَانُ مِنْهُ، فَإِنْ تَابَ رَجَعَ إِلَيْهِ

✧ The adulterer does not commit adultery while he is a believer, the thief does not steal while he is a believer, and the wine-drinker does not drink wine while he is a believer.” We said: “O Messenger of Allah, how can that be?” He said: “Faith departs from him; if he repents, it returns to him.”
