حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي خَيْثَمَةَ قَالَ: نَا وَهْبُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ زِمَامٍ الْعَلَّافُ قَالَ: نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَوَاءٍ قَالَ: نَا الْمُغِيرَةُ أَبُو سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبَانَ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ الْأَعْوَرِ قَالَ:
دَخَلْتُ عَلَى عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، فَقَالَ: أَلَا أُعَلِّمُكَ دُعَاءً عَلَّمَنِيهِ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ ؟ قُلْتُ: بَلَى قَالَ: قُلِ: اللَّهُمَّ افْتَحْ مَسَامِعَ قَلْبِي لِذِكْرِكَ، وَارْزُقْنِي طَاعَتَكَ وَطَاعَةَ رَسُولِكَ ﷺ، وَعَمَلًا بِكِتَابِكَ

✧ I entered upon Ali b. Abi Talib, and he said: “Shall I teach you a supplication that the Messenger of God ﷺ taught me?” I said: “Yes.” He said: “Say: O God, open the ears of my heart to Your remembrance, and grant me obedience to You and obedience to Your Messenger ﷺ, and action according to Your Book.”
