حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ الصَّائِغُ قَالَ: نَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ حَمْزَةَ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ قَالَ: نَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ

أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ، قَالَ لِأَخِيهِ زَيْدِ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ: خُذْ دِرْعِي هَذِهِ يَا أَخِي، فَقَالَ لَهُ: إِنِّي أُرِيدُ مِنَ الشَّهَادَةِ مِثْلَ الَّذِي تُرِيدُ، فَتَرَكَاهَا جَمِيعًا

✧ Umar b. al-Khattab said to his brother Zayd b. al-Khattab on the day of Uhud: 'Take this armor of mine, my brother.' He replied: 'I desire martyrdom as you desire it,' so they both left it.
