✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said one night during Ramadan: "O 'A'ishah, set up a mat for me at your door." So I did, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out to it, and those who were in the mosque gathered to him, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed with them. The next night the mosque was crowded and full of people. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out and prayed the last 'Isha' prayer with them, then returned while the people were still in the mosque. He said: "O 'A'ishah, what is the matter with the people?" I said: "O Messenger of Allah, they heard about your prayer last night, so they gathered for you to pray with them." He said: "Remove your mat, O 'A'ishah." She said: So I did, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ [came out] at the time of the dawn prayer, prayed with the people, then turned to face them and said: "O people, indeed your presence was not hidden from me, and I did not spend the night—praise be to Allah—unaware. But I feared that it would be made obligatory upon you, so undertake the deeds that you are able to bear, for Allah, Mighty and Majestic, does not tire until you tire."
