حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ السَّقَطِيُّ قَالَ: نَا أَبُو حَفْصٍ الصَّفَّارُ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ قَالَ: نَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ وَاقِدٍ الصَّفَّارُ، عَنْ رَجُلٍ، مِنْ أَهْلِ مَكَّةَ، يُقَالُ لَهُ: سَالِمٌ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ ابْنِ الْحَنَفِيَّةِ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ قَالَ:

صَعِدَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ، فَحَمِدَ اللهَ وَأَثْنَى عَلَيْهِ، وَقَالَ: كِتَابٌ كَتَبَهُ اللهُ، فِيهِ أَسْمَاءُ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ بِأَسْمَائِهِمْ وَأَنْسَابِهِمْ، مُجْمَلٌ عَلَيْهِمْ لَا يُزَادُ فِيهِمْ وَلَا يُنْقَصُ مِنْهُمْ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ، صَاحِبُ الْجَنَّةِ مَخْتُومٌ بِعَمَلِ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ، وَصَاحِبُ النَّارِ مَخْتُومٌ بِعَمَلِ أَهْلِ النَّارِ، وَإِنْ عَمِلَ أَيَّ عَمَلٍ، وَقَدْ يُسْلَكُ بِأَهْلِ السَّعَادَةِ طَرِيقَ أَهْلِ الشَّقَاءِ حَتَّى يُقَالَ: مَا أَشْبَهَهُمْ بِهِمْ، بَلْ هُمْ مِنْهُمْ، وَتُدْرِكُهُمُ السَّعَادَةُ، فَتَسْتَنْقِذُهُمْ، وَقَدْ يُسْلَكُ بِأَهْلِ الشَّقَاءِ طَرِيقَ أَهْلِ السَّعَادَةِ حَتَّى يُقَالَ: مَا أَشْبَهَهُمْ بِهِمْ، بَلْ هُمْ مِنْهُمْ، وَيُدْرِكُهُمُ الشَّقَاءُ، مَنْ كَتَبَهُ اللهُ سَعِيدًا فِي أُمِّ الْكِتَابِ لَمْ يُخْرِجْهُ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا حَتَّى يَسْتَعْمِلَهُ بِعَمَلٍ يُسْعِدُهُ قَبْلَ مَوْتِهِ، وَلَوْ بِفَوَاقِ نَاقَةٍ "، ثُمَّ قَالَ: " الْأَعْمَالُ بِخَوَاتِيمِهَا، الْأَعْمَالُ بِخَوَاتِيمِهَا

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ ascended the pulpit, praised Allah and extolled Him, and said: "A book Allah has written, in it are the names of the people of Paradise with their names and lineages, summarized for them, nothing added to them and nothing subtracted from them until the Day of Resurrection. The person of Paradise is sealed with the deeds of the people of Paradise, and the person of the Fire is sealed with the deeds of the people of the Fire, even if he does any deed. The people of felicity may be led along the path of the people of wretchedness until it is said, 'How similar they are to them; rather, they are from among them,' and then felicity overtakes them and rescues them. And the people of wretchedness may be led along the path of the people of felicity until it is said, 'How similar they are to them; rather, they are from among them,' and then wretchedness overtakes them. Whoever Allah has written as felicitous in the Mother of the Book, He will not take him out of this world until He makes him act with a deed that brings him felicity before his death, even if by the interval between two milkings of a camel." Then he said, "Deeds are by their endings; deeds are by their endings."
