- Dāraquṭnī
machine translationAl-Dāraquṭnī was asked about it and said: Al-Layth b. Saʿd, ʿAbd al-Ḥamīd b. Jaʿfar and Muḥammad b. Isḥāq narrated it from Yazīd b. Abī Ḥabīb, from ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz b. Abī al-Ṣaʿbah, from Abū Aflaḥ al-Hamdānī, from Ibn Zurayr, from ʿAlī; and he mentioned in it a statement other than this. He said: The sound (ṣaḥīḥ) report from Ibn Isḥāq is the statement of Yazīd b. Hārūn and Jarīr from him, because ʿAbd al-Ḥamīd b. Jaʿfar and al-Layth corroborate them.

machine translationThis hadith has been given another defect (ʿillah), namely the unknown status (jahālat al-ḥāl) of Abū Aflaḥ, with an fāʾ and not a qāf. He said: ʿUbaydullāh b. Zurayr is also of unknown status (majhūl al-ḥāl).
