✧ The family of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had a servant girl who served them, called Barrah. A man met her and said to her: O Barrah, cover your little hairs, for Muhammad will not avail you anything against Allah. She informed the Prophet ﷺ, and he came out dragging his cloak with his cheeks reddened—we, the Ansar, would recognize his anger by the dragging of his cloak and the redness of his cheeks—so we took up arms and came to him, saying: O Messenger of Allah, command us with whatever you wish, for by the One who sent you with the truth, if you ordered us concerning our mothers, fathers, and children, we would carry out your command regarding them. He ascended the pulpit, praised and extolled Allah, and said: Who am I? We said: You are the Messenger of Allah. He said: Yes, but who am I? We said: You are Muhammad b. 'Abd Allah b. 'Abd al-Muttalib b. Hashim b. 'Abd Manaf. He said: I am the master of the children of Adam, and I say this without boasting. I am the first for whom the earth will split open, and I say this without boasting. I am the first from whose head the dust will be shaken off, and I say this without boasting. I am the first to enter Paradise, and I say this without boasting. What is the matter with people who claim that my kinship will not benefit? It is not as they claim. I will intercede and my intercession will be accepted, until even the one for whom I intercede will intercede and his intercession will be accepted, until even Iblis will stretch forth in intercession.
