حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ النَّضِرِ الْأَزْدِيُّ قَالَ: نَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو قَالَ: نَا الْمُفَضَّلُ بْنُ صَدَقَةَ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ، عَنْ كَثِيرِ بْنِ جُمْهَانَ قَالَ:
أَتَى ابْنَ عُمَرَ رَجُلٌ وَهُوَ يَمْشِي فِي الْوَادِي، فَقَالَ: يَا ابْنَ عُمَرَ، تَأْمُرُنَا بِالسَّعْيِ، وَأَنْتَ تَمْشِي ؟ قَالَ: لَئِنْ مَشَيْتُ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَمْشِي، وَلَئِنْ سَعَيْتُ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَسْعَى، وَأَنَا شَيْخٌ كَبِيرٌ
Translation

✧ A man came to Ibn Umar while he was walking in the valley and said: "O Ibn Umar, you command us to do sa'y while you are walking?" He said: "If I walk, I have seen the Messenger of Allah ﷺ walk; and if I do sa'y, I have seen the Messenger of Allah ﷺ do sa'y. And I am an old man."
