حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ السِّمْسَارُ قَالَ: نَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ قَالَ: نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَاهَانَ بْنِ أَبِي حَنِيفَةَ قَالَ: نَا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ:

اخْتَصَمَ رَجُلَانِ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ، فَقَالَ: إِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ، أَقْضِي بَيْنَكُمْ بِمَا أَسْمَعُ مِنْكُمْ، وَلَعَلَّ أَحَدَكُمْ أَلْحَنُ بِحُجَّتِهِ مِنْ أَخِيهِ، فَمَنْ قَضَيْتُ لَهُ مِنْ حَقِّ أَخِيهِ شَيْئًا فَإِنَّمَا أَقْطَعُ لَهُ قِطْعَةً مِنَ النَّارِ

✧ Two men brought a dispute to the Prophet ﷺ. He said: "I am only a human being, and I judge between you according to what I hear from you. Perhaps one of you is more eloquent in presenting his argument than his brother. So if I judge in favor of someone giving him something from his brother's right, I am only cutting off for him a piece of the Fire."
