حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ الصَّابُونِيُّ قَالَ: نَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْوَشَّاءُ قَالَ: نَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْأَنْمَاطِيُّ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ:

رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ فِي حَجَّتِهِ يَوْمَ عَرَفَةَ، وَهُوَ عَلَى نَاقَتِهِ الْقَصْوَاءِ يَخْطُبُ، فَسَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ: أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ، قَدْ تَرَكْتُ فِيكُمْ مَا إِنْ أَخَذْتُمْ بِهِ لَنْ تَضِلُّوا: كِتَابَ اللهِ، وَعِتْرَتِي: أَهْلَ بَيْتِي

✧ I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during his Hajj on the Day of ʿArafa, while he was on his she-camel al-Qaswaʾ, delivering a sermon. I heard him say: “O people, I have left among you that which, if you hold fast to it, you will never go astray: the Book of Allah and my ʿitra, my Ahl al-Bayt.”
