حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سَلْمٍ الرَّازِيُّ قَالَ: نَا سَهْلُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ قَالَ: نَا يَحْيَى بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا بْنِ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي يَعْقُوبَ الثَّقَفِيِّ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي يُونُسُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، مَوْلَى مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ قَالَ:

بَعَثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ إِلَى الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ أَسْأَلُهُ عَنْ رَايَةِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مَا كَانَتْ ؟ قَالَ: كَانَتْ سَوْدَاءَ، مُرَبَّعَةً، مِنْ نَمِرَةٍ

✧ Muhammad b. al-Qasim sent me to al-Bara' b. 'Azib to ask him about the banner of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, what it was. He said: It was black, square, made of a striped cloth.
