حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو زُرْعَةَ قَالَ: نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّلْتِ قَالَ: نَا أَبُو كُدَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ، عَنْ أَبِي الضُّحَى، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ:
مَرَّ يَهُودِيٌّ بِالنَّبِيِّ ﷺ، فَقَالَ: يَا يَهُودِيُّ، حَدِّثْنَا، فَقَالَ: كَيْفَ تَقُولُ يَا أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ إِذَا جَعَلَ اللهُ السَّمَاءَ عَلَى ذِهِ، وَالْأَرْضَ عَلَى ذِهِ، وَالْجِبَالَ عَلَى ذِهِ، وَالْبِحَارَ عَلَى ذِهِ، وَسَائِرَ الْخَلْقِ عَلَى ذِهِ ؟ قَالَ: فَأَنْزَلَ اللهُ: وَمَا قَدَرُوا اللهَ حَقَّ قَدْرِهِ
Translation

✧ A Jew passed by the Prophet ﷺ, and he said: 'O Jew, narrate to us.' He said: 'How do you say, O Abu al-Qasim, when Allah places the sky on this (finger), the earth on this, the mountains on this, the seas on this, and the rest of creation on this?' He said: 'Then Allah revealed: "They have not appraised Allah with true appraisal."'
