✧ Two men from the Ansar recited a surah that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had taught them, and they used to recite it. One night they stood to pray with it, but they could not recall a single letter of it. In the morning they went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and mentioned that to him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "It is among those that were abrogated and caused to be forgotten, so turn away from it." Al-Zuhri used to recite: 'Whatever verse We abrogate or cause to be forgotten' with a damma on the nun, lightly pronounced.
