حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ وَاقِدٍ قَالَ: نَا أَبِي قَالَ: نَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقْرَأُ: ( قُلُوبُنَا غُلُفٌ مُثَقَّلَةً ): أَوْعِيَةٌ لِلْحِكْمَةِ قَالَ: " قَالَتِ الْيَهُودُ حِينَ دَعَاهُمْ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لِيَتَعَلَّمُوا الْحِكْمَةَ: كَيْفَ نَتَعَلَّمُ وَقُلُوبُنَا إِنَّمَا هِيَ غُلُفٌ مُحْكَمَةٌ ؟ أَيْ: أَوْعِيَةٌ لِلْحِكْمَةِ

✧ He used to recite: (Our hearts are wrapped) meaning vessels for wisdom. He said: "The Jews said when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ called them to learn wisdom: 'How can we learn when our hearts are securely wrapped?' meaning vessels for wisdom."
