حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ قَالَ: نَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ قَالَ: نَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ قَالَ: نَا عُتْبَةُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ قَالَ:

سَأَلْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ، فَقُلْتُ: يَا أَبَا حَمْزَةَ، الرَّجُلُ مِنَّا يُقْرِضُ الْمَالَ، فَيُهْدَى لَهُ ؟ فَقَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: إِذَا أَقْرَضَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَأُهْدِيَ لَهُ أَوْ حُمِلَ عَلَى دَابَّةٍ، فَلَا يَقْبَلْهُ وَلَا يَرْكَبْهَا إِلَّا أَنْ يَكُونَ جَرَى بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَهُ قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ

✧ I asked Anas b. Mālik: O Abā Ḥamzah, a man among us lends money and then receives a gift. He replied: The Messenger of God ﷺ said: If one of you lends and then is given a gift or is mounted on an animal, let him not accept it nor ride it, unless that was already customary between them before that.
