حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ خُلَيْدٍ قَالَ: نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عِيسَى الطَّبَّاعُ قَالَ: نَا مَطَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْأَعْنَقُ، عَنْ أُمِّ أَبَانَ بِنْتِ الْوَازِعِ بْنِ الزَّارِعِ، عَنْ جَدِّهَا الزَّارِعِ - وَكَانَ فِي وَفْدِ عَبْدِ الْقَيْسِ - قَالَ:

لَمَّا قَدِمْنَا الْمَدِينَةَ، جَعَلْنَا نَتَبَادَرُ مِنْ رَوَاحِلِنَا، فَنُقَبِّلُ يَدَيِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَرِجْلَيْهِ، وَانْتَظَرَ الْمُنْذِرُ الْأَشَجُّ حَتَّى أَتَى عَيْبَتَهُ، فَلَبِسَ ثَوْبَهُ، ثُمَّ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ﷺ. فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: إِنَّ فِيكَ خَلَّتَيْنِ يُحِبُّهُمَا اللهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: الْحِلْمُ، وَالْأَنَاةُ " فَقَالَ الْمُنْذِرُ: الْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذِي جَبَلَنِي عَلَى خَلَّتَيْنِ يُحِبُّهُمَا اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ

✧ When we arrived in Madinah, we began rushing from our mounts to kiss the hands and feet of the Prophet ﷺ. Al-Mundhir al-Ashajj waited until he came to his baggage, put on his garment, and then came to the Prophet ﷺ. The Prophet ﷺ said to him: 'You have two qualities that God, Mighty and Exalted, loves: forbearance and deliberation.' Al-Mundhir said: 'Praise be to God who has created me with two qualities that God and His Messenger love.'
