✧ ʿAlī b. Saʿīd b. Bashīr al-Rāzī

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيٌّ قَالَ: نَا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ عِيسَى الطَّائِيُّ قَالَ: نَا هُشَيْمٌ، عَنْ مَنْصُورِ بْنِ زَاذَانَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:

مَنْ هَمَّ بِحَسَنَةٍ فَلَمْ يَعْمَلْهَا كُتِبَتْ لَهُ حَسَنَةً، فَإِنْ عَمِلَهَا كُتِبَتْ عَشْرًا إِلَى مَا شَاءَ اللهُ، وَمَنْ هَمَّ بِسَيِّئَةٍ فَلَمْ يَعْمَلْهَا لَمْ تُكْتَبْ عَلَيْهِ، فَإِنْ عَمِلَهَا كُتِبَتْ عَلَيْهِ وَاحِدَةً أَوْ يَمْحُهَا اللهُ

✧ Whoever intends a good deed but does not do it, a good deed is recorded for him. If he does it, it is recorded as ten up to whatever Allah wills. And whoever intends an evil deed but does not do it, it is not recorded against him. If he does it, it is recorded against him as one, or Allah may erase it.
