✧ Uthman prohibited tamattuʿ and qiran (combining Hajj and ʿUmrah). News of that reached ʿAli, so he went out saying, 'Labbayk with a Hajj and an ʿUmrah together.' Uthman said to him, 'Have I not prohibited this?' He said, 'I would not abandon the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for the prohibition of anyone.'
