✧ He met Abu Dharr at al-Rabadhah, driving a camel of his with two water-skins on it, and a water-bag on the camel's neck. I said: O Abu Dharr, what is with you? He said: I have my work. He said: I said: Tell me, may God have mercy on you. He said: I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say: 'There are no two Muslims between whom three children die, who have not reached the age of accountability, except that they are forgiven by the virtue of His mercy toward them.' I said: Tell me more, may God have mercy on you. He said: Yes, I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say: 'Whoever spends a pair of anything from his wealth in the path of God, the gatekeepers of Paradise will meet him, each of them calling him to what he has.' I said: A pair of what? He said: 'If he is an owner of horses, then two horses; if an owner of camels, then two camels; if an owner of cattle, then two cows'—until he counted various kinds of this sort.
