✧ On the day of Khaybar, the people suffered hunger, so they took domestic donkeys and slaughtered them, and boiled their pots. That reached the Prophet ﷺ. Jabir said: 'The Messenger of God ﷺ ordered us, and we overturned the pots, and he said: "God will bring you provision that is more lawful for you than this and better than that." So we overturned the pots that day while they were boiling.' He said: 'The Messenger of God ﷺ forbade the meat of domestic donkeys, the meat of horses and mules, every predator with fangs, every bird with talons, and he forbade animals killed by strangling, stolen property, and plunder.'
