✧ The Prophet's ﷺ concubine, the mother of Ibrahim, was in an upper room of hers. A Copt used to come to her, bringing her water and firewood. People said about that: 'A foreigner entering upon a foreign woman.' That reached the Prophet ﷺ, so he sent ʿAli b. Abi Talib and ordered him to kill the man. ʿAli went and found him on a palm tree. When the Copt saw the sword with ʿAli, he fell, threw off the cloak that was on him, and jumped. He was found to be castrated. ʿAli returned to the Prophet ﷺ and said: 'O Messenger of God, when you command one of us to do something and then he sees otherwise, should he consult you?' He said: 'Yes.' He informed him of what he saw of the Copt. Then the mother of Ibrahim gave birth to Ibrahim, and the Prophet ﷺ was in doubt about him until Gabriel ﷺ came and said: 'Peace be upon you, O father of Ibrahim,' and he was reassured by that.
