حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ سَيَّارٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ قَالَ: نَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ أَبُو مَعْمَرٍ الْقَطِيعِيُّ قَالَ: نَا خَلَفُ بْنُ خَلِيفَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هَاشِمٍ الرُّمَّانِيِّ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ بُرَيْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ:

الْقُضَاةُ ثَلَاثَةٌ: فَرَجُلٌ قَضَى فَاجْتَهَدَ فَأَصَابَ فَلَهُ الْجَنَّةُ، وَرَجُلٌ قَضَى فَاجْتَهَدَ فَأَخْطَأَ فَلَهُ الْجَنَّةُ، وَرَجُلٌ قَضَى فَجَارَ فَفِي النَّارِ

✧ Judges are of three types: a man who judged and strove and was correct—for him is Paradise; a man who judged and strove and erred—for him is Paradise; and a man who judged and was unjust—he is in the Fire.
