✧ When the Prophet ﷺ dug the trench, the Muslims suffered severe hardship, to the extent that the Prophet ﷺ tied a rock on his stomach from hunger, and so did his Companions. So I slaughtered a young she-goat and ordered my family to bake some barley bread that they had, and they cooked the she-goat. Then I invited the Prophet ﷺ and informed him of what I had prepared. He said, 'Go and prepare what you have until I come to you.' So I went and prepared what we had. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came with the entire army. I said, 'O Messenger of Allah, it is only a young she-goat that I prepared for you and a few of your Companions.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'Bring a large bowl.' I brought him a large bowl. Then he said, 'Put some condiment in it.' Then he invoked blessing upon it. Then he said, 'In the name of Allah.' Then he said, 'Let ten men enter.' I did so, and whenever they ate and were satisfied, they left, and I let another ten enter, until the entire army had eaten, and the food was as it was.
