Chain of narrators
  1. Abū Hurayrah

✧ I was struck by severe hardship, so I went to 'Umar and asked him to open a verse from the Book of God for me. He entered his house, then opened it for me. I went not far before I fell on my face from hardship. Then the Messenger of God ﷺ was standing at my head, and he said, "Abu Hurayrah!" I said, "At your service, O Messenger of God, and happily!" I told him what I was in, and he recognized what was wrong with me. He went to his saddle and ordered for me a wooden bowl of milk. I drank from it, then he said, "Drink again, O Abu Hurayrah." I drank again until my back straightened and became like an arrow. Then I met 'Umar, and I mentioned what had happened to me and said, "God took charge of that which someone more deserving than you should have done. I asked you to recite the verse when I was better at reciting it than you." 'Umar said, "By God, I wish I had let you in; that would be dearer to me than red camels."
