✧ Bakr b. Sahl al-Dimyati

حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرٌ، قَالَ: نَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، قَالَ: نَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الْخَيْرِ، عَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ:

مَا مِنْ عَمَلِ يَوْمٍ وَلَيْلَةٍ إِلَّا يُخْتَمُ عَلَيْهِ، فَإِذَا مَرِضَ الْمُؤْمِنُ قَالَتِ الْمَلَائِكَةُ: رَبَّنَا عَبْدُكَ فُلَانٌ قَدْ حَبَسْتَهُ، فَيَقُولُ: اخْتِمُوا لَهُ عَلَى عَمَلِهِ حَتَّى يَبْرَأَ أَوْ يَمُوتَ

✧ There is no deed of a day or night but it is sealed upon. When the believer falls ill, the angels say: “Our Lord, Your servant so-and-so You have detained.” He says: “Seal for him upon his deeds until he recovers or dies.”
