✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent for me and said, 'Take your sword and your weapon.' So I took my sword and my weapon, then came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and found him performing ablution. He looked at me, raising his gaze and then lowering it, and said, 'O 'Amr, I intend to send you on an expedition. May Allah give you spoils and protect you, and I will give you a good share of wealth.' I said, 'By Allah, O Messenger of Allah, I did not embrace Islam for wealth, but I embraced Islam out of desire for Islam and to be with you.' He said, 'O 'Amr, how excellent is righteous wealth for a righteous man.'
